Can I change property managers during a tenancy?+
Usually, yes. The tenancy does not need to end when management changes. The process and notice required depend on your current agency agreement, which should be reviewed before action is taken.
Will the tenant need to sign a new lease?+
A change of managing agent generally does not itself replace the existing residential tenancy agreement. The tenant must receive the correct updated management and payment information.
Who contacts my current property manager?+
Once the correct management authority is in place, Reside can coordinate with the outgoing agent to obtain the tenancy file, keys, ledger, inspection records and other handover information.
What happens to the rental bond?+
The managing-agent details need to be updated through the appropriate NSW Rental Bonds Online process. This forms part of our transfer checklist.
How quickly can I switch?+
Timing depends mainly on the termination and notice provisions in your current agency agreement and the condition of the handover file. We confirm the practical timeline before the transfer begins.
